Martin E. Boyer created this influential single family residency for E.C. Griffith in the Eastover neighborhood. One of the first buildings in the neighborhood, Griffith owned a successful real estate company and worked in conjunction with Earle Draper, the urban planner of the city. This building set the tone for the neighborhood, with an emphasis on simplicity yet grandeur.
